CSR
Activities
CCTV cameras were donated to the Deputy Superintendent of Police in Pollachi Taluk, Coimbatore District, where a lot of crimes occurred that might have been prevented if surveillance had been conducted by CCTV cameras during the release of “Watchman.” We understand that relying on police protection alone is unrealistic, and CCTV cameras would provide extra eyes for the police, allowing criminal activity to be detected.
During the Release of “Psycho” (a film about a Visually Challenged hero who attempts to rescue a the woman of his love from a cold-blooded murderer) as part of CSR, we took an initiative to include audio description in the movie and offer it to visually challenged people. On Day 2 of the film’s release, we specially screened the movie for them. The joyful event of watching the film with them gave us considerable pleasure and encouragement, as well as a desire within ourselves to provide them even more happiness by including audio descriptions in all our future films.
For Maayon, we decided to add the audio description not only to the film but also for the teaser and trailer which is the first time this has been done in India, to include the visually challenged from the start. So, we released teaser, trailer specially audio described for them. Finally, the First Day – First Show with audio description was specifically tailored and screened to the Visually challenged at Kamala theatre, making it the first production house to show the film on first day to the visually challenged.
